for many of the people you see photographed on this blog, I’ve only just met them,
so my posting/writing is usually limited to the few hours I get to spend with them and what they choose to reveal to me about their personality.
but for this girl?
I say this girl is legendary.
I mean it and don’t take saying that lightly…
what is legendary? remarkable enough to be famous.
and like I said…she is and I don’t take defining her as such lightly. 🙂
I’ve known of her for many years and then on a personal level for the last four…because she’s let me know her.
I say legendary because I don’t think I’ve ever met a girl quite like this one in my lifetime…and I’ve met quite a few people.
she was raised by two parents and three older brothers far out on a dairy farm.
because of that, she knows how to work hard because it was always demonstrated first hand by the people she loved most.
I’ve never been a dairy farmer, but what little I do know about it…it’s hard work,
and hard work with no let up…you don’t get to take days off when animals and your livelihood depend on you.
I’ve been friends with one other farm girl growing up and my impression of that particular friend
was that she sort-of wanted nothing to do with anything equated to being a farm girl…
if you follow her on insta or snapchat you can’t help but think her life is one giant adventure. 🙂
she’s the first to jump in and get dirty doing something crazy…
four-wheeling at sunset, crazy swims/jumping canals with her brothers and friends who visit her out there,
raising baby calves and feeding them by hand…
what I love about Katie is that she embraces life where my other friend missed out by resenting her life.
what makes Katie legendary in my mind is that she lives life in FULL force with passion or none at all.
I said it on my Instagram when I posted her prelude,
she is funny AND she is serious,
she is the life of the party AND she is introspective when the mood calls for it,
she is the girl next door AND the girl who makes all the guys jaws drop,
she’s the first to jump off a cliff AND also the one to talk you down off one…
photographing her was easy and a challenge – how do you show off all of her in a single photograph?
I don’t think you can…which is why I’m thankful for the day I got to spend with her…I love you, Katie!
